A bicyclette
Le Pays du Gois dispose de nombreux chemins balisés en site propre ou partagé qui permettent une large découverte du territoire. Huit boucles de sentiers pédestres et cinq de sentiers cyclables sont à votre portée. Chacun amène à un aspect unique du territoire : les oiseaux, le bocage, le marais, les ports ou encore les producteurs locaux (sauniers ou ostréiculteurs) et les éoliennes.
Les cinq pistes cyclables présentent sur le Pays du Gois vous permettront d’aborder tous les aspects du territoire : son côté littoral, ses marais (doux et salés) ainsi que son bocage verdoyant.
A. La piste du littoral
Cet itinéraire de 25 km relie au nord le Port du Collet (qui est en limite de Loire-Atlantique) au Pont Noir au sud.
Cadencé au rythme des ports et de l’embouchure des « étiers », cet itinéraire offre un parcours en pleine nature, tantôt dans les marais de la commune de Bouin, tantôt longeant la route des ostréiculteurs, jusqu’au Passage du Gois.
Faune et flore du littoral, activités ostréicoles et énergie éolienne sont au rendez-vous sur cette terre de sel et de vent marins.
N’hésitez pas à faire une pause en trajet, vous rencontrerez des passionnés, qu’ils soient sauniers ou ostréiculteurs qui seront ravis de vous faire découvrir leur métier et vous aurez peut-être même l’opportunité de déguster leurs dernières récoltes ou pêches.
B. La boucle cyclable de Bouin de 8 km allie patrimoine et nature.
Elle relie le centre-bourg de Bouin et la Maison du Pays du Gois au littoral via ses marais doux et salants.
il vous sera possible d’admirer de belles demeures seigneuriales, témoins du passé prospère de la ville jusqu’aux marais et les ports ostréicoles. Ainsi, arrêtez-vous devant son église et son clocher de 51 mètres, et n’hésitez pas à pousser la porte pour admirer le retable du maître-autel ainsi que le tableau d’Edouard Krug « La mise au tombeau ». Plusieurs demeures vous interpelleront certainement telles que le « Grand Logis » ou encore « La Demeure du Pavillon ».
Vous pourrez y admirer le « Grand logis », demeure du XVIème siècle ayant abrité les seigneurs du Poitou à l’époque où Bouin était encore une île, ou sa belle église Notre Dame de Bouin du XIVème siècle, restaurée en 2005.
C’est aussi un itinéraire propice à l’observation des oiseaux comme à la dégustation des huîtres…
C. La boucle cyclable de Beauvoir-sur-Mer, longue de 5.4 km relie le centre-bourg de Beauvoir-sur-Mer à la piste du littoral.
Il vous sera donc aisé de lier les deux parcours afin d’enrichir vos découvertes.
Cet itinéraire permet de découvrir le centre-bourg de Beauvoir avec son église du XIème siècle « Saint-Philbert », du nom du fondateur du monastère d’Ampennum (Beauvoir) au VIIème siècle, ainsi que les marais des alentours (avec sa maison de l’âne) et les activités salines. Connecté à la piste littorale, il s’ouvre sur l’emblématique passage du Gois.
La Maison de l’Ane, sur le trajet, est un site touristique remarquable où vous pourrez à la fois découvrir comment se récolte le sel mais aussi comment se fabrique les savons au lait d’ânesse. Vous pourrez par la suite achever votre balade gourmande en allant auprès des ostréiculteurs sur la route du même nom ou directement à leur arrivée aux ports.
D.La boucle cyclable de Saint-Urbain de 8.3 km vous amènera à un tout autre paysage que les marais.
En effet, vous serez plongés en plein cœur du bocage et vous déambulerez entre bois et champs. Sur cet itinéraire, c’est la verdure qui est reine ! Sur le parcours, vous passerez devant le magnifique château de la Bonnetière qui a autrefois accueilli Henri IV. Même s’il n’est pas ouvert à la visite, un arrêt devant vous permettra d’admirer les jardins et la bâtisse et déguster des produits laitiers à la ferme de la Mourainerie.
Enfourchez de nouveau votre vélo et dirigez-vous vers le ruisseau du Grand Taizan. Une fois sur le chemin piétonnier « A la planche », nichée sous les arbres, vous pourrez emprunter la magnifique passerelle, passage à gué construit en 2013. Cette piste vous permet également de rejoindre Beauvoir-sur-Mer.
E. La piste de Saint-Gervais, longue de 6 km relie le centre bourg aux pistes cyclables de Châteauneuf à l’est.
Ce parcours boisé, vous permettra de vous balader au cœur du bocage vendéen. Vous pourrez alors regarder les animaux paître dans les champs. Les vaches maraîchines et les chevaux se laisseront prendre en photo en toute tranquillité. Ce paysage plus rural vous plongera dans l’histoire du territoire, au lieu même où est né le Selle Français.
Sentiers pÉdestres
Du centre de Bouin, deux propositions de sentiers pédestres qui vont l’un vers la mer, l’autre vers le marais doux.
1. Le sentier du Port des Champs (boucle de 9,5 km)
Il permet de découvrir la digue ancestrale qui protège Bouin. Ce sentier aboutit au Port des Champs, port ostréicole caractéristique d’une activité présente sur le territoire. Il suffit de passer le pont-écluse pour apercevoir les pêcheries mais également les éoliennes, moulins des temps modernes.
2. Le chemin des oiseaux (boucle de 12,2 km)
Il vous plongera au cœur du marais où vous pourrez observer les plus beaux oiseaux : aigrette garzette, hérons cendrés, ibis, col vert ou tadorne de belon…
Autour de Beauvoir et Saint Gervais, quatre circuits d’une petite dizaine de kilomètres réalisent des boucles entre bocage et marais.
3. Le circuit des marais salants (boucle de 6.7 km) est un sentier marqué par l’histoire.
En effet, Beauvoir-sur-Mer est l’une des cités les plus anciennes entre Loire et Gironde. Ce sentier permet de découvrir l’église, richesse patrimoniale, ainsi qu’une diversité faunistique et floristique. On observe également des activités ancestrales telles que la récolte du sel.
4. Entre bocage et marais (boucle de 9 km),
A la limite de Beauvoir et Saint Gervais, le sentier offre d’un côté, une vue exceptionnelle sur l’étendue du marais et de l’autre un regard et sur le bocage. Le lieu-dit ‘’Bonne brise’’ offre, à ce titre, un point de vue privilégié.
5. Le sentier de la chapelle de Bordevert (boucle de 9 km) à Saint Gervais,
Erigée au XIIIe siècle, mérite à elle seule cette promenade entre terre et eau au départ de l’église du centre-bourg.
6. La rive du marais (boucle de 10,5 km)
Il offre une promenade au cœur de paysages secrets à l’habitat pittoresque au départ de la chapelle de Bordevert.
7. Le GR8 et le chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle
Ils traversent le territoire de la Communauté de Communes en longeant le littoral du Nord au Sud.
Walking and cycling trails in the « Pays du Gois »
The potential for wind, the space, the low population density and the lack of beaches in the area, were all good reasons for installing the wind-farm and cycling around them has become a bonus : you can choose the 25 km coastal cycling track or one of many cycling loop trails offered by the Gois country !
Alongside the sea, the community of municipalities “Pays du Gois” offers a great range of landscapes marked by man’s imprint and which provide much appreciated assets to visitors.
Walking trails
From the centre of Bouin, you can take any of 2 trails : one going towards the sea and the other going inland towards freshwater marshland.
1- The « Port des Champs » trail (9.5 km loop) will take you to the historical dyke that protects Bouin. This trail passes through the « Port des Champs », a little harbour characteristic of the active oyster industry in this area. Once passed the lock, not only will you see the dip nets but also the wind farm with the wind mills of our times.
2- The birds and marshlands trail (12.2 km loop) will take you through birdwatching territory and you will certainly see at least one of the following : little egrets, herons, ibis, mallards or shelducks…
3- The saltern trail (6.7 km loop) is marked by history as Beauvoir-sur-Mer is one of the oldest cities between the Loire and the Gironde rivers. You will discover the church, one of Beauvoir’s rich heritage features, but also a great variety of plants and wildlife. You will also see the ancestral making of salt with salterns.
4- From hedgerow farmland to marshlands (9 km loop), at the edges of Beauvoir and Saint Gervais, you will have on one side of the trail, an exceptional view over the marshes and on the other, a wonderful outlook over the hedgerow farmland. The « Bonne brise » locality is a privileged view point.
5- The Bordevert Chapel trail (9 km loop) in Saint Gervais will take you between land and water, from the church of Saint Gervais (starting point) to the Chapel of Bordevert built in the 13th Century that on its own totally justifies this walk.
6- On the fringes of marshlands (10.5 km loop) offers a walk through many secretive landscapes and picturesque housing. Start at the Bordevert Chapel.
8- The national footpath GR8 and the pilgrim’s Way of Saint James, both go along the coast through the community of municipalities, from North to South.
Cycling trails
Cycling is one of the best non-invasive forms of travel and is becoming increasingly popular. The challenge taken-up by the community of municipalities consisted in interconnecting the four municipalities together with their environment to create favourable conditions for the practice of leisure and competitive cycling.
A – The coastal cycling trail
The 25 km long coastal cycling trail goes from the Port du Collet to the Pont Noir and passes by the Gois causeway. Badly damaged during the Xynthia storm in 2010, it was completely modified and rebuilt in 2012.
This itinerary will take you through the countryside, through the marshlands, the ports and mouths of canals, along the oyster growers road to the Gois causeway.
Coastal plants and wildlife, oyster farming activities and a wind farm are all there waiting for you in this land of salt and wind.
New trails to interconnect the territory
One of the concerns of the community of municipalities in the last few years, was to complete the coastal trail with other trails. The district has now four circular trails which enable you to cycle through and visit the four municipalities of Bouin, Beauvoir-sur-Mer, Saint-Gervais and Saint-Urbain.
B- The Bouin circular cycling trail (8 km) links the centre of Bouin to the coast through the salt and freshwater marshes. You will admire the “Grand logis”, a 16th century mansion frequented by the Poitou nobles at a time when Bouin was still an island, or its pretty 14th century church of Notre Dame de Bouin, totally restored in 2005. This cycle path will also take you to watch birds or taste a few oysters…
C- The Beauvoir-sur-Mer circular cycling trail (5.4 km) links the heart of the city to the coastal cycling trail. From this itinerary, you will discover the centre of Beauvoir with its 11th century church of Saint Pilbert, named after the founder of the Ampennum (Beauvoir) monastry in the 7th century. You will also see the surrounding marshlands with the “House of the donkeys” and salt related activities such as salterns. When linked to the coastal trail, this trail will lead you to the emblematic Gois causeway.
D- The Saint-Urbain circular cycling trail (8.3 km) will take you North of Saint-Urbain, through hedgerow farmland. Between woods and fields, you will cycle past the Bonnetière private manor house (closed to visitors) and appreciate dairy products at the Mourainerie farm. This trail will also take you from Saint-Urbain to Beauvoir-sur-Mer.
E- The Saint-Gervais cycling trail (6 km) will lead you to the cycling trails of Châteauneuf from the centre of Saint-Gervais.

Каждый из них привносит что-то своё в открытие этой неповторимой территории: птиц, лоскутные поля бокажа и марши (низменные, плодородные, защищённые плотинами от наводнений земли у берегов рек и морей), порты и местных производителей соли и устриц, ветрогенераторы.
Велосипедные маршруты
Пять велосипедных маршрутов, проходящих по территории Пеи-дю-Гуа позволяют познакомиться со всеми особенностями территории: морским побережьем, пресноводными и солёными маршами и с зеленеющими полями бокажа.
А. Береговая трасса
Этот маршрут, протяженностью 25 км соединяет на севере Порт Коллé, который находится на границе с департаментом Атлантическая Луара, и Чёрный мост на юге.
Он предлагает путешествие отчасти в маршах Буэна, отчасти вдоль шоссе устричных фермеров прямиком к Пассажу-дю-Гуа.
Фауна и флора прибрежной полосы, устрицы и ветрогенераторы ждут вас в этой земле соли и морского ветра.
Не стесняйтесь сделать остановку чтобы пообщаться с солеварами или разводчиками устриц, которые будут рады рассказать Вам о своих промыслах. Вам возможно даже удастся что-либо отведать.
B. Маршрут Буэн (Bouin)
Велосипедная петля протяженностью 8км сочетает в себе наследие и природу. Маршрут соединяет центр города Буэн и Дом Пеи-дю-Гуа (La Maison du Pays du Gois), пересекая пресноводные и солёные марши.
Вы сможете полюбоваться красивыми особняками, свидетелями благополучного прошлого на своём пути из города в марши и устричные порты. Сделайте остановку у церкви с колокольней в 51 метр, чтобы полюбоваться её алтарем и картиной « Погребение » (Edouard Krug). Она приведет Вас в совершенно другой пейзаж, отличный от маршей. Вы будете погружены в сердце бокажа где и будете бродить по лесам и полям. Ваш путь пройдёт возле великолепного замка Боннетьер (château de la Bonnetière), где проживал Генрих IV. Несмотря на то, что сам замок закрыт для посетителей, Вы можете остановиться неподалёку чтобы полюбоваться на сады и здания, а также отведать продукцию местных молочников на ферме « Mourainerie ».
Продолжите Ваш путь по направлению к потоку Grand Taizan.Вы можете воспользоваться отчасти и пешеходной тропой « A la planche », которая выведет Вас к великолепным пешеходным мосткам, построенным в 2013 году. Эта трасса также позволяет добраться в Бовуар-сюр-Мер.
Е. Маршрут Сен-Жерве (Saint-Garvais), протяжённостью 6 км

2. Путь птиц – петля протяжённостью 12.2 км Он приведёт в самое сердце маршей, где Вы можете наблюдать самых красивых птиц: различные виды цапель, ибисов, уток… Вокруг Бовуар-сюр-Мер и Сен-Жерве, четыре маршрута, каждый из которых чуть меньше 10 км, образуют петли между бокажем и маршами.
3. Солеварни – петля протяжённостью 6,7 км Бовуар-сюр-Мер является одним из старейших городов. Этот маршрут позволит познакомиться с церковью, одной из составляющих его наследия, с традиционным промыслом этих земель – добычей соли, а также с разнообразием его флоры и фауны.
4. Между бокажем и маршами – петля протяжённостью 9 км На границе коммун Бовуар-сюр-Мер и Сен-Жерве маршрут предлагает по одну сторону исключительный вид на территорию маршей, а по другую – вид на лоскутные поля бокажа.
5. Часовня Бордовер (la chapelle de Bordevert) в Сен-Жерве – петля протяжённостью 9 км Построенная в тринадцатом веке, сама по себе уже заслуживает проделать этот путь.
6. По краю маршей – петля протяжённостью 10.5 км Этот маршрут предлагает прогулку в самом сердце живописных ландшафтов.
7. GR8 и дорога в Сен-Жак-де-Компостель. Они пересекают территорию Пеи-дю-Гуа, проходя вдоль побережья с севера на юг.
